Frequently Asked Questions

General Gameplay Quesions

Seven Days seems too long/too short for the game. Can we change it?
Sure, go for it. Just agree on a number before starting and include enough Festival Day cards to draw. We've also played with the idea of the first Player to 5 Tikis, the first Player to 50 Food, etc. If you come up with other neat variants, let us know.
Do I get a new Vision when I complete the first one?
No, not unless you have a special card or effect that allows you to do so.
Can I use a Native with "Immune to Wounded" or a Native with "Armor" on Challenges like the "Long-Tusked Boar"?
Look at you, being all tricky! Yup, you sure can. The Boar doesn’t know any better.
What do we do if we run out of cards to draw in any of the decks?
Shuffle the discards for that deck back into a fresh deck and continue.
Can I place more than one Native at the Campfire for discounts?
Yes. As many Natives as you want can be placed at either the Village or the Campfire. Only the Jungle is limited by the number of Spears you have.
What should we do if the last four cards in the Campfire deck end up being the "Wild Boar Attack!"?
Shuffle better, silly. Just kidding. It's pretty unlikely, but in that event, you can just shuffle all The Campfire discards back into the deck, then proceed as normal.
Do I have to play with Visions, Big Chiefs, Pets, or other Kickstarter cards?
No. Those cards simply add more variety and strategy if you want it. Kickstarter cards are even marked with a (KS) to make it easy to remove them.
Do I still collect my Native's Jungle Values if they fail Sleight of Hand?
No. You simply lose 1 Food. And if you don't have any food to lose, good for you!
Can I draw beyond my max hand size during my turn?
Yes. You only have to discard down to your max hand size at the end of your turn.
If I have a -1 Food Token on a Native, and I get a +1 Food Token for that Native, can I just remove the -1 Food Token instead?
No. Could “Nets” cure a “Weird Rash”? Not likely. Doing so would also undermine the effects of certain Huts, Visions, and Tricks.
Do I need a Native in the Village to collect the card bonus from the Possessive Owl?
No. In this instance, the Possessive Owl acts like a Native, and can bring you cards on its own!
Do I still have to pay for the extra Native when I recruit Noonah?
Yes, you do.
Can I buy and add a Pet to a Native I just recruited?
Yes, just recruit the Native first.
Can I use my Native's Campfire discounts to buy a Pet?
No, since Pets count as Tokens.
Can I discard a Tiki if I'm already at the max and want a new one instead?
We're okay with it. Just agree amongst yourselves beforehand.
During the Village phase, can I collect some of my cards, use some of them, and then collect the rest?
Interest idea, but no. Unless you have a specific card or effect that states otherwise, you must collect all your cards at the same time.
Can a Player participate in an Event like "Tusk Juggling" or the "Recruiting Fair" if no one else wants to?
Yes. Just because no one else wants to play with you, it doesn't mean that you're not awesome! It's just an easy win for you!

Card-Specific Questions

Do Visions, like "Perseverance" and "Well-Trained", need the Tokens on different Natives?
No, the Tokens can all be on the same Native, as long as it has them all at once.
Does "Merv Bankin" work with "The Provider"?
Yes, it would take a lucky draw. But then again, Merv Bankin is a lucky guy!
What happens if I don't have any Tikis and I get a "Near-Sighted Woodpecker"?
Plot twist! That's a REALLY near-sighted Woodpecker! Pets don't actually specify "your" Native or Tiki, so technically, you could play it on anyone. And in this instance, you would actually have to. Or you can be boring and decide ahead of time whether people can discard them or not.
Is Mahnoes' ability a one-time use?
No, Mahnoes' ability is continuous while in play for his controller. If Mahnoes is discarded, you lose the bonus.
Does "Bait" work if the Wild Boar isn't already in play?
Yes. Just bring it into play.
Can a "Mirage" cancel another "Mirage"?
Heck ya! Those are the best!
Does the "Fertilizer Hut" pay when a "Boar Trap" is played?
Yes, technically the Wild Boar is moving out of play.
